The beloved festival is returning for 2026! It's back with more colour, music and dancing than ever before...

Returning from 2nd May to 4 May 2026, the Rochester Sweeps Festival, International Festival of Folk Music and Dance is one of the largest May Day celebrations in the world.

For three incredible days, historic Rochester bursts into life with vibrant music, energetic dance, and lively performances. The festival showcases top folk musicians and bands, while hundreds of Morris dancers from across the country fill the high street with the rhythmic sounds of dance and musical performances. The celebration also features a dynamic programme of international dance groups and workshops.
