Cobb’s Quay Marina at Hamworthy in Holes Bay lies in Poole Harbour, the world's second largest natural harbour. It has a lively, seafaring atmosphere, and with 1109 berths it’s a favourite with yachtsmen and motor cruisers alike.
The marina has first-class facilities, including a chandlery and convenience store. There is a state of the art toilet and shower building with sanitary machines, a reception lobby, disabled facilities, and a laundrette.
There’s a 259-berth dry stack system for motorboats up to 10 metres, although this is dependent on the vessel (e.g. those with fixed radar arches). Offering increased security and lower maintenance costs, the service includes unlimited launching on arrival, seven days a week.
The Green Blue has developed an online map to show which marinas, boatyards and harbours provide environmental facilities such as pump out, black water/Elsen disposal, recycling, freshwater refill points, hazardous waste disposal and filtered/bunded boat washdown. Click here for the location map.
We now offer a secure and convenient storage facility onsite. So if you need to stow boating gear, or you have business or household goods to store, the units provide a great solution. Find out more here or call 01202 674299.
Around Cobb’s Quay there are many natural inlets and small islands to explore by boat. Brownsea Island, the largest of the islands in the harbour, is owned by the National Trust. Its woodland, heath and wetland areas are host to rare birds such as spoonbills, red squirrels and all manner of wildlife.
Out of the harbour to the east lies the Solent, offering year-round racing and sheltered cruising around the Isle of Wight. To the west is Studland Bay and Swanage, with its popular beach and white cliffs. Recreational boaters who use, visit and enjoy Studland Bay are being asked to help protect its precious habitats for the future. Read more here.
Travelling further west, there are extensive opportunities for cruising in the unspoilt waters of Torbay and the West Country.
