Emma
Marina Manager
Emma joined MDL in September 2020. She previously managed a harbour not too far from Chatham. Emma has been in the marine industry for over 20 years, starting off on deck for a high-speed ferry service and making her way up the ranks to the role of Captain.
Taylor
Acting Marina Manager
Taylor started at Chatham in 2017 as Winter Banksman and Summer Lock Keeper,. Since then he took on the role as a full time Marina Operative developing his skills in the office as well as in the boatyard. Taylor has since been promoted to Marina Supervisor and recently took over the running of the Boatyard and can now be found driving the crane and tractor. He is currently covering Emma's maternity leave as Acting Manager.
Amber
Assistant Manager
Amber is our longstanding Supervisor who has spent her working life on the water in one capacity or another. The best part of Amber’s day is walking the pontoons and catching up with the customers!
Aaron
Marina Operative
Aaron started working in the marina at the beginning of the year after spending most of his working life in the construction industry. You will mostly find him in the lock office or out and around the pontoons. Aaron's hobbies are football and boxing, or enjoying a nice day out with his children and family.
Charlie
Marina Operative
Charlie has joined MDL as one of our Marina Operatives, having recently graduated from University. Outside of work, Charlie enjoys weightlifting, playing video games, and caring for his pets.
Jakob
Marina Operative
Jakob has been in and around the marina for a while, first as a contractor in the yard for 6 years before moving across to MDL in 2023. In his spare time you will find him on the golf course and skiing in the winter.
Jeni
Marina Operative
Jeni joined us in March 2022 and is really enjoying her time here at Chatham Marina. She comes from the hotel industry and will always greet you with a big smile. Jeni likes to travel, go hiking and finding beaches in her spare time (or sipping wine).
John
Lock Keeper
John has been at Chatham Maritime Marina for twenty years, and has the distinction of being the only staff member titled Lock Keeper! In his spare time he works with the Paddle Steamer Medway Queen and the Light Ship 21, and has interests in a number of other marine and transport heritage projects.
Lily
Marina Operative
Lily has recently joined Chatham Maritime Marina. Over the last five years, Lily has dedicated her free time to rowing at Gravesend Rowing club where she has greatly developed her boating skills with a thorough understanding of the tides. As a coach at her club, Lily has obtained her powerboat license so keep an eye out if you see her driving MDL’s launch!
Max
Marina Operative
Max recently joined MDL on a full-time basis, having progressed from working part-time over the summer of 2023. He thoroughly enjoys meeting new people who come to the marina and helping out customers wherever possible. In his spare time Max also works as an actor, enjoys reading and going to the theatre. He also likes visiting museums, including Chatham Dockyard, which is where he picked up a knowledge and keen interest in marine and sailing activities.
Neil
Marina Operative
Neil started working with MDL in March 2023 on a part time basis and then progressed to full time employment covering the night shift. He thoroughly enjoys the working life in the Marina and enjoys conversing with the berth holders and helping out where he can. Neil is an avid scuba diver with a local club and enjoys the marine lifestyle and all of its aspects.
Samuel
Marina Operative
Samuel recently started at Chatham as a Marina Operative, previously working in a marina workshop for over a year and a half. He has grown up around boats and enjoys spending his spare time out on the river.
Wayne
Marina Operative
Wayne started at MDL Marinas through an agency as Summer Lock Keeper before being promoted to a full time Marina Operative in 2016. He previously worked in the security industry and you will mostly see him in the boatyard driving the plant machinery, but he can also be found in the office organising the lifts for the berth holders.
