Fortis Marine strengthens its position with three premium brands and an expanding Service Centre

Fortis Marine has entered a significant new phase, uniting three premium yacht brands under one identity and expanding a Service Centre that is fast becoming a key resource for owners across the South Coast and the Solent. Operating from their base at MDL’s Hamble Point Marina, the organisation has built a reputation for technical expertise and long term owner support.

Formerly operating as X Yachts (GB) Ltd, the company now trades as Fortis Marine, reflecting the broader capability the team has developed over the past decade. Their partnership with X Yachts remains at the heart of the business — a relationship that now spans 25 years, with more than 500 new and pre owned X Yachts supplied and supported across the UK and Ireland. Alongside this long standing heritage, Fortis Marine also represents two additional premium European builders: Vaan, the Dutch yard producing aluminium catamarans, and Leonardo Yachts, known for classically inspired designs paired with modern engineering.

This development brings three distinct brands together within the same organisation, offering owners a wider range of options while retaining the same experienced team behind the scenes.

A Service Centre built for all yacht owners

Alongside the brand expansion, Fortis Marine’s Hamble based Service Centre has grown into a major part of the business. Originally established to support X Yachts owners, the facility now works across all makes and models, offering a comprehensive range of technical services.

  • Rigging, spars and deck hardware maintenance
  • Seasonal care and ongoing yacht management
  • Refit projects and modernisation programmes
  • Electrical diagnostics and upgrades
  • GRP repairs and cosmetic refinishing
  • Engine servicing and mechanical work

Drawing on their background in Scandinavian yacht design and engineering, the team is well suited to working on Hallberg Rassy yachts, which are a natural fit for the Service Centre’s capabilities, as well as the broad range of other marques they support.

The Service Centre is led by Julien Renault, whose background spans multiple premium yacht brands and complex refit projects. Speaking about the expansion, Julien said:

Our priority is to deliver work of a consistently high standard, supported by clear communication and a thorough, disciplined approach

His approach has shaped the culture of the workshop, which now supports a growing number of MDL berth holders and visiting yachts throughout the year.

A strengthened presence for the UK and Ireland

With a unified identity and an expanding technical division, Fortis Marine is positioning itself as a long term partner for yacht owners, whether they are exploring new build options, seeking brokerage support, or looking for reliable service and maintenance.

The identity may have broadened, but the team’s expertise remains constant — and their expanded capability is already drawing attention from owners across multiple marques.

As part of this next phase, Fortis Marine are offering a complimentary safety check for any yacht using their Service Centre facilities at Hamble Point. It’s a simple way for owners to confirm their boat is in good shape for their time on the water this season.
