Welcome to Cobb’s Quay Marina Winter News

We’d like to start off by saying a massive thank you to all our berth holders for keeping your boat with us this year, for what has been another busy and memorable season. It has been great to see so many customers at the Marina throughout the year, come rain or shine.

Cobb’s Quay Marina Team

In September we welcomed new manager, Dan Lewis to the marina, who is looking forward to meeting as many of you as possible next year. We also welcomed various new members to our Cobb’s Quay Team, please stop them and say hi the next time you’re at the Marina. We’re also currently recruiting for various positions to strengthen the service we provide to you, including Seasonal Marina Operatives for the 2022 season. If you know anyone that you think would be great in this role, please ask them to get in touch.

Marina Improvements

Over the last few months, we’ve been busy tidying up the Marina to ensure that we are in the best possible shape to kick off the 2022 boating season. Some of the main improvements are still in progress and ongoing, which include a refreshed BBQ and customer social area and a redesigned, more customer friendly reception area. Also, most importantly, we’re finalising the plans for a complete re-design and refit of the customer facility block.

Re-decking of the A pier main walkway was completed earlier in the year, and this marked the start of a rolling programme of re-decking works over the coming years with fingers on A pier and all of C pier planned for next year. You will also have noticed the annual dredging taking place in the run up to Christmas.

Charity Support

2022 will see Cobb’s Quay collaborate more closely with our local RNLI Operation. We’re planning various charitable events with the RNLI in the Marina, including several Life vest inspection days to ensure you’re all as safe as possible when out on the water with your families.

What’s coming in 2022 at Cobb’s Quay

We were sad to see Ian from the Cobb’s Quay Shop leave us this year after many years supporting the Marina with his business, and supplying hungry and thirsty customers with snacks and coffee. We are taking customer feedback on board and plans are afoot to open a shop and store for the 2022 season. This will give us the opportunity to service our customers with coffee and snacks and further improve our Storage Business here at Cobb’s Quay. More information to follow.

Cobb’s Quay Storage Discount

For those customers who are new to Cobb’s Quay this season, just to let you know we will be offering a 10% discount to all new customers that need some extra space to store all your important boating equipment here at Cobb’s Quay Storage. Our secure facility provides easy access to your gear 24 hours a day 365 days a year, giving you a convenient solution and the extra space you need. Please contact the marina office for more details.

Events Calendar

Whilst the pandemic has put a stop on social events, we hope to see them return next year. Keep a look out on our Facebook page and around the marina for details. If you’d like to see a particular event next year, please let us know. We will be working closely with your Berth Holders Association CQBHA and hope to publish our 2022 events calendar in the early part of 2022. Don’t forget you can also join The Even Keel, our online boating community, and organise events and discuss the latest in boating with fellow berth holders.

Christmas is now firmly on the horizon and there will be festive treats at the marina for you to enjoy, so if you’re visiting be sure to pop into the marina office and enjoy a treat with the team.
