MDL Marinas retains triple ISO certification, reinforcing commitment to quality, safety and sustainability
We’re proud to announce that we have successfully retained all three of our internationally recognised ISO certifications, reaffirming our commitment to delivering the highest standards of quality, reliability, safety and service excellence across our UK marina network.
In 2022, we became the first UK marina operator to achieve all three certifications. Retaining them is a testament to our ongoing dedication to providing exceptional marina experiences while protecting the marine environment and prioritising the safety of our customers, visitors and employees.
Our three certifications independently recognise our commitment to excellence in key areas:
- ISO 9001 – Quality Management: Ensuring we consistently deliver high standards of service, maintain reliable operations and continually improve our customers' experience.
- ISO 14001 – Environmental Management: Minimising our environmental impact, operating responsibly and protecting the marine environments in which we operate.
- ISO 45001 – Occupational Health & Safety: Maintaining safe, well-managed marina environments for our customers, visitors, contractors and employees.
For us, retaining these internationally recognised certifications is about more than simply meeting industry standards. It's about embedding quality, safety and continuous improvement into everything we do, delivering real, tangible benefits for our berth holders, boat owners and marina visitors.
Our standardised, independently assessed management systems help us deliver consistently high standards of service across our marina network, giving our customers confidence and peace of mind wherever they choose to berth with us.
Through rigorous processes, regular assessments and a proactive approach to managing risk, we're able to identify and address potential issues early. This helps us maintain safer, more efficient marina operations while minimising avoidable disruption for our customers.
We're committed to continually improving our facilities, services and operational practices to meet the evolving needs of our customers. By investing in our marinas and looking for new ways to enhance what we offer, we aim to make every visit as enjoyable and straightforward as possible.
Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We actively listen to feedback and use it to shape improvements across our marinas, helping us respond to changing expectations and consistently deliver the welcoming, professional and dependable service our customers expect.
Our commitment to quality, safety and sustainability goes beyond certification. We put these principles into practice through ongoing investment and meaningful improvements across our marina network.
To further strengthen our safety standards, we've worked with specialist training provider Vitae Vi to develop bespoke water safety and cold-water immersion training for our marina teams. This ensures our employees have the knowledge and skills they need to help maintain safer marina environments for everyone.
We've also continued to invest in our customer facilities and infrastructure. Recent improvements include upgrades to customer facilities, marina office accommodation and roadways at Hamble Point Marina, refurbished shower and washroom facilities at Penton Hook Marina, and the introduction of a new 35-tonne boat hoist at Northney Marina to enhance our boat lifting operations.
Environmental responsibility remains a key priority for us. Between 2022 and 2025, we reduced our operational carbon emissions by 54%, supported by ongoing investment in renewable energy, improved waste management and more sustainable ways of working.
Alongside these larger projects, we know it's often the everyday details that make the biggest difference to our customers. That's why we remain focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, keeping our facilities in excellent condition, listening to feedback and continually identifying opportunities to make marina life easier, safer and more enjoyable.
Retaining all three ISO certifications is an achievement we're incredibly proud of. It reflects the dedication and hard work of our teams, as well as our long-term commitment to maintaining and improving standards across every marina in our network.
For our customers, these certifications provide independent assurance that quality, safety and environmental responsibility are embedded in the way we operate. They reinforce our promise to deliver reliable services, continually improve our facilities and create exceptional marina experiences.
As we continue to invest in our people, facilities and infrastructure, these internationally recognised standards will remain central to everything we do. We're committed to providing safe, sustainable and high-quality marina environments, ensuring everyone who enjoys life on the water can do so with confidence and peace of mind.
