Saxon Wharf Berth Holder News

As the year draws to a close, we hope you had a good boating season even though the weather was somewhat changeable. We had an amazing June where the temperatures hit record levels for the UK, and early October saw records broken once again. We do hope you took advantage of the good weather to use your boat to explore the local area and some of you may have even ventured further afield.

The new car parking system will be “Up and Running” shortly following further essential works. This will provide a solution to the issue of limited car parking spaces during peak times and will ensure there is adequate parking available for all our customers. Over the coming winter you’ll notice that we’re dredging A basin to provide easy access at all states of the tide for the larger vessels that come into the marina for lifting out, and to maintain the depth required for our dry stack customers to use their boats safely.

Our longstanding tenant, Oyster Yachts Ltd, continues to grow and expand its portfolio which has led to new premises on site. This is also the case with MSOS who has added an additional unit to its assets. While these tenants have expanded, we’ve had a couple of tenants downsize and we wish them luck for the future. Currently we have just three vacant units which we’re actively marketing. All our current tenants and their services can be found in our online directory.

Over the past year we’ve seen a couple of our staff members leave for pastures new, and we wish them well with their future ventures. We now have a couple of vacancies across the team that we’re actively recruiting for, and we aim to employ and have new staff trained and operational well ahead of the new season.

This year we hosted a joint ‘Cheese and Wine’ event with our sister marina Shamrock Quay, and we’ve planned for further exciting events next season, so please see our online events calendar for details. The ‘Trolley of Treats’ will return next summer, so please watch out for it coming to Saxon Wharf!

Now looking forward to the new season let’s hope the weather is good with plenty of pleasant warm weather for everyone to enjoy. The team and I look forward to seeing you all next year.
