Pure Latitude Boat Club open new base in Lymington

Boat share company, Pure Latitude Boat Club, has expanded its operations by opening a new base in Lymington Yacht Haven.

Over 15 years the company has grown steadily and now operates a fleet of over 20 yachts and motorboats. Due to increased demand, they have doubled the Lymington fleet, creating an additional base for both new and existing members. Members can enjoy 2 Hanse sailboats (345 and 348), plus an Axopar 28 adventure boat and Beneteau Antares 30 flybridge motorcruiser.

MD Martin Gray said “We are very excited to be launching a standalone base offering a range of boating options at Lymington. Increased demand for our flexible sharing model has enabled us to expand our operations and Lymington is the obvious base. It is a beautiful town and the Yacht Haven has some of the best views on the Solent, not to mention perfect access to the western bays and harbours.”

The new base offers both private and group training to every level of sailor, from complete beginner to experienced but rusty. Part of the joy of belonging to a boat club is having the flexibility to enjoy different boats; membership includes use of the fleet across the other three Pure Latitude locations in Port Hamble, Plymouth and Windsor.

In future the company plans to also expand its operations in Plymouth and Windsor, and is investigating new locations on the south coast.

Our boat share model is the modern way to boat. It offers a cost-effective, sustainable, flexible way to sail. It is boating, but better. You focus on spending your time actually boating and do away with the time-consuming and costly maintenance responsibilities.
Martin Gray, Managing Director of Pure Latitude Boat Club

Pure Latitude Boat Club was founded by Gray in 2007 and is the UK’s no. 1 membership boat club. Pure Latitude Boat Club has created a proven a sharing subscription model that delivers greater flexibility and variety to its members than individual boat ownership. Members, from novices to expert sailors, can benefit from the use of any boats in the fleet.

As an RYA registered training centre Pure Latitude delivers theory and practical courses across both sail and motorboats exclusively for members. Bespoke training is also available. A comprehensive event programme ranges from social sailing events to long distance adventure trips to major race series such as Round the Island, JOG racing and the Fastnet Race. Club membership maximises the opportunities to get on the water year-round, without the expense and hassle of maintenance at less than the cost of an annual mooring.

Pure Latitude Boat Club will exhibit at the South Coast & Green Tech Boat Show 21 – 23 April 2023. Hosted at MDL’s flagship Ocean Village Marina in Southampton, the show has over 75 new boats from some of the world’s top brands, including two examples from the Pure Latitude fleet.
