New Manager at Chatham Maritime Marina

By Site Admin

We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Crompton as Marina Manager at Chatham Maritime Marina.

Emma joins us with a wealth of boating and marina management experience. Before joining MDL, Emma managed Queenborough Harbour, where she led the development of the harbour and facilities.

Emma’s love of the water started at an early age on her grandparents’ yacht. Since then, her career has seen her qualify as a RYA sailing instructor and become a watersports instructor at a leading outdoor education centre. Emma moved into the marine industry as a deckhand with Thames Clippers and quickly worked her way up the ranks to high speed captain. She was the first female captain for Thames Clippers and also the first female to gain a MCA high speed endorsement in the UK.

Alongside key marina and boating skills, Emma brings in-depth knowledge of health and safety to her new role, having developed safety management systems under the International Safety Management code (ISM) during her career.

I’m very excited to be taking on the role as Marina Manager at Chatham Maritime Marina. I look forward to meeting with all of the berth holders and tenants, driving the future success of the marina, and building on the fantastic reputation it holds in the boating community.

In her spare time, Emma volunteers for a number of charitable organisations and is crew at Gravesend Lifeboat station.

We’re sure that berth holders at Chatham Maritime Marina will join us in welcoming Emma to her new role and look forward to getting to know her.
