New base for Wesup on River Hamble

Wesup (stand-up paddle boarding rental and sales) is moving its Hamble River base to our Mercury Yacht Harbour and Holiday Park. This base will be Wesup’s second within our network, with one already established at Torquay Marina.

“We’re thrilled to be establishing our new base at Mercury Yacht Harbour and Holiday Park,” says Wesup founder, Sean White. “Not only is it a beautiful part of the river with lots of creeks to explore, its sheltered from the westerly winds, creating an ideal environment for learners as well as more experienced paddlers.”

Offering stand up paddle boarding and kayaking experiences to MDL berth holders, holiday park guests and people from the surrounding area, Wesup says it provides all equipment needed to safely enjoy these fun on-water activities, including buoyancy aids and wetsuits.

All our instructors hold the Wesup senior instructor award which we’ve been running for 10 years. As there’s no specific governing body for paddle boarding, we’ve created our own instructor levels and are spearheading a safe paddling campaign, ensuring an enjoyable and safe experience for all participants.

Wesup’s onsite club house will be selling and hiring an extensive range of Fanatic paddle boards, from touring to racing, beginners to advanced.

“We’re excited to welcome Wesup to Mercury Yacht Harbour and Holiday Park,” says marina manager, Simon Cothill. “We’re confident that this addition to our riverside community will be of benefit to everyone.”
