JOG Yacht Racing marks a memorable season at their 2025 Prizegiving Awards Evening

We were delighted to once again support the JOG Yacht Racing Prizegiving Awards Evening, held on Saturday 22 November at the stunning Harbour Hotel overlooking our Ocean Village Marina in Southampton. The event brought the JOG community together for an evening that captured the energy, camaraderie, and competitive spirit that define the club.

The 2025 season delivered exceptional racing with close results, impressive seamanship, and determined performances across the fleet. The Prizegiving was an opportunity to recognise the sailors who shaped the season, as trophies steeped in history were awarded to their new custodians. It was a celebration of skill, continuity, and the Corinthian spirit that lies at the heart of JOG.

There was also a moment of heartfelt reflection as Martin Banfield, JOG’s long-serving Sailing Secretary, bid farewell to his role. His steady presence, deep knowledge, generosity, and commitment have guided JOG for many years, becoming woven into the rhythm of its racing. The applause that followed his thanks was warm, sincere, and entirely deserved.

The evening also signified an important transition for JOG with the introduction of their new Racing Manager, Martin Evans. Taking the floor after his introduction, he commented: “I’m excited to get to know everyone and put on some great racing. JOG has a fantastic community, and I’m really looking forward to being part of it.”

With celebrations in full swing there was a strong sense of momentum for the season ahead. We are proud to support JOG Yacht Racing and look forward to continuing our partnership as the club heads into 2026.

Congratulations to all the 2025 prize winners and heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributes to the success of the season.
