The 48R is a modern, exciting and contemporary yacht with all the space of a Bluewater cruiser. The striking Stephen Jones hull design offers a noticeable increase in volume when compared to the 42, with exhilarating sailing performance and a comfortable, spacious interior now with a lower Saloon. Fitted as standard, the sail-drive propulsion system is complimented by a bow thruster for close quarter manoeuvring. The interior design is focused on comfort and usable space whilst benefiting from Discovery’s world renowned build quality.

The two fixed keel options allow owners to select the required draft for their particular application and cruising ground. Deep draft 2.2m keel or alternatively, shoal draft 1.8m option. The inherent strength of the keel structure is hand laminated directly to the yacht’s hull. The high specification of the materials used such as Unidirectional Carbon fibre is testimony to the quality present in every inch of a Discovery Yacht.

The Aft T-shaped cockpit offers superb visibility from the twin wheels when sailing and ample space for entertaining guests. Deep cockpit coamings offer reassurance and protection.
