John Harris CMM

Marina Manager

John has worked at MDL since 2019, managing both Bray and Windsor marinas. Before MDL, he managed and worked at other marinas on the Thames, and had previously been heavily involved in other areas of the business, including boat sales and lifting. This has given him a great understanding of customer needs. Previous to this John served in the Royal Navy for five years where he travelled the world and gained his sea legs, but these days is more at home on the river, which he's very passionate about. Given their beautiful settings, John says he couldn’t ask for a better working location.

Derek Allen

Marina Operative

Derek has been with MDL Marinas at Windsor since February 2019. He really enjoys working at the marina and has recently passed his Inland Waterways Helmsman course and loves to get out on the river when the opportunity arises. Boating in any form is good for the soul, so it’s not difficult to see why it's so popular. Derek is also a keen cyclist and is able to cycle to work as he lives locally. During his spare time he regularly goes out on a 30 to 50 mile ride and, although he wouldn't describe himself as Tour de France material, it’s a great pastime!

Iona Etchells

Relief Marina Operative

Iona has worked at Bray and Windsor marinas as a casual worker since June 2021 and really enjoys being apart of the support team, especially during the summer. She also has a boat on the Thames and enjoys going out on the river when not working or travelling around the world.

Tom Downes

Dockmaster

Tom has worked as a Dockmaster at Windsor Marina since 1984. He really enjoys getting out around the marina and meeting customers, as well as doing general maintenance around the site especially in the summer time.
