Matt Pettit

Marina Manager

Matt joined the Northney team in January 2026 as Marina Manager, bringing with him a broad background across the marine industry. His experience ranges from managing large-scale events to offshore sailing. With a strong background in marina operations, safety, and customer service, Matt is passionate about creating a well-run and welcoming environment for berth holders and visitors alike. Outside of work, he is happiest on the water, kitesurfing or making the most of the Solent whenever conditions allow.

Kevin Willmoth

Night Marina Operative

Kevin became part of the Northney team in April 2025. A former commercially endorsed skipper, he began his marine career as coxswain of police patrol boats on the Thames. Later, he worked in Portsmouth as an RYA Advanced Powerboat and Jetski instructor, then as a lock keeper in Eastbourne and in the Solent. He enjoys the rigors of sailing in his Hunter 26 and cruising Europe on his motorcycle.

Simon Goff

Casual Marina Operative

Simon has been a valued member of the Northney team since April 2023, working on a casual basis alongside successfully running his own business for over 20 years. In his free time, Simon enjoys the challenge of completing crosswords and relaxing with a good book, reflecting his love for both problem-solving and literature.

Stephen Harris

Administrator

Steve took on the Administrator role at Northney in November 2024, with six years of experience in the marine industry. Growing up boating in Chichester Harbour, he now owns a Westerly sailing yacht, which he and his family enjoy sailing. Steve also teaches Powerboat Level 2 courses in his spare time, reflecting his passion for boating.

Will Wheeler

Marina Operative

Will joined our yard team in July 2024, bringing a lifelong passion for sailing. Starting at age 10, he earned RYA instructor qualifications and competed nationally with the West Sussex Schools Team. His experience includes working in the Merchant Navy on North Sea standby and supply vessels. A leisure sailor as well, Will regularly sailed a Westerly Ocean 33 from Chichester and now owns a Princess 33, with plans for another sailing boat project to further his love for life on the water.
