John Harris CMM

Marina Manager

John has worked at MDL since 2019, managing both Bray and Windsor marinas. Before MDL, he managed and worked at other marinas on the Thames, and had previously been heavily involved in other areas of the business, including boat sales and lifting. Previous to this John served in the Royal Navy for five years where he travelled the world and gained his sea legs, but these days is more at home on the river, which he's very passionate about. Given their beautiful settings, John says he couldn’t ask for a better working location.

Alex Wheeler

Dockmaster

Alex has worked at Bray Marina as a Dockmaster since 2003. His role involves keeping a close eye on the boats in the marina and assisting our customer where possible. He enjoys being out and about around the marina, so you will often see him on the pontoons throughout the day. When not at work, Alex enjoys taking his own boat out on the river, is a keen motor mechanic and gardener.

Chloe Beckley

Seasonal Marina Operative

Chloe has worked at Bray and Windsor marinas as a Seasonal Marina Operative since May 2024. She really enjoys being part of the team and feels most calm by the river. She lives on her houseboat and enjoys boat trips with family in the summer. She also enjoys practicing yoga, reading, and traveling.

Doug Hughes

Marina Operative

Doug joined Bray and Windsor marinas in December 2023 and quickly became a familiar face on the pontoons. He enjoys being out around the marina supporting customers and taking care of day to day maintenance. When time allows, Doug loves sailing his dinghy on a local lake, across the Solent and occasionally even further afield. He has also recently become a proud dog owner, so exploring the outdoors on foot has become a regular part of his routine.

Emma Bryden

Casual Marina Operative

Emma recently joined MDL as a Casual Marine Operative so she can surround herself with boats every day. A lifelong sailor, she began with summers spent as an RYA dinghy instructor before moving onto larger boats. She has enjoyed a mix of sailing over the years, from racing to channel crossings. These days, she prefers the calmer, more relaxed pace of the river.

Iona Etchells

Relief Marina Operative

Iona has worked at Bray and Windsor marinas as a casual worker since June 2021 and really enjoys being apart of the support team, especially during the summer. She also has a boat on the Thames and enjoys going out on the river when not working or travelling around the world.

Richard Wightman

Dockmaster

Richard has worked at Bray Marina since 1999. His role as Dockmaster involves carrying out regular checks of the marina and boats, as well as maintenance tasks around the site. He enjoys being out around the marina, seeing berth holders taking their boats out, and is always more than happy to lend a hand if needed. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with family as well as taking his dog Chase out for long walks. You may get to see him at Windsor from time to time.
