Welcome to Saxon Wharf Winter News

The team would like to start off by saying a massive thank you to all our berth holders for keeping your boat with us this year, for what has been another busy and memorable season.

New Team Members

Over the past twelve months we have welcomed three new colleagues to our team at the Marina; Darren Powell, Drew Mumford and Michael Wilson, all successfully appointed as Marina Operatives. We are also delighted to share the news that John–Paul Ninian has been promoted to Boatyard Supervisor. J-P has worked at Saxon Wharf for many years and this promotion has been well earned. Finally, as the colder months draw in, we do have some further openings for seasonal staff to assist in the boatyard during the winter months, so you may see another new face in the coming weeks and months.

Marina Improvements

At the beginning of 2021, we saw the berth holder facilities undergo a major refurbishment, the result of which has left a stunning and bright space with an airy feel. There has also been an upgrade to CCTV across the site to provide additional security coverage, thus improving the safety and security at the marina. New signage has also been ordered to go across the site giving us a new enhanced image. Finally, we have on order a New Dry Stack Forklift which should be with us in late December/early January. This new forklift will enable us to provide a much more efficient service for our berth holders.

Tenants

Oyster Yachts have expanded their operation here on site, and Medical Support Offshore Ltd have also added to their portfolio by acquiring a further unit with us here at Saxon Wharf. The Rig Shop also have relocated their offices and workshops within the boatyard, so their previously allocated area will be turned into much needed car parking space. The tenants on site have had a busy twelve months, which is great news considering what has been another challenging year due to the pandemic.

Events calendar

Whilst the pandemic has put a halt to our usual social activities and events, we hope to see them return with gusto next year. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and around the marina for details of upcoming social events as we plan them. One of the first social activities we hope to introduce will be a series of coffee mornings during the season to enable all our berth holders to meet and greet the staff, as well as offer feedback on how we can improve your experience here at Saxon Wharf.

Christmas is now firmly on the horizon and there will be festive treats at the marina for you to enjoy, so if you’re visiting be sure to pop into the marina office and enjoy a treat with the team. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and we look forward to another great season ahead!
