Shamrock Quay Marina Winter News
We’d like to start off by saying a massive thank you to all our berth holders for keeping your boat with us this year.
With 2022 providing constant blue skies and fabulous warm weather throughout the summer, the significant growth in the boating market saw many of our marinas at capacity and busier than ever with customers visiting our great marina locations.
Here at Shamrock Quay, we’ve proudly accommodated every berthing request received, providing over 1530 Freedom berthing nights and 980 visitor berthing nights during 2022.
As the daylight hours shorten and the year draws to a close, the team have now commenced their winter maintenance programme to prepare the marina for next season. Ahead of that, we thought we’d take the opportunity to look back over some of the improvements, activities and services that have been undertaken here at Shamrock Quay during 2022, as well as update you on some of the further improvements that are planned for 2023.
For your Enjoyment:
- We know how to enjoy ourselves at Shamrock Quay and we’re proud hosts to a number of customer events including our now famous Cheese and Wine evening as well as our customer BBQ, which was held on the hottest day of the year! Each of these events was warmly received and thoroughly enjoyed by those attending.
- The trolley of treats made a welcome return and will be back again doing rounds on the pontoons throughout 2023.
- In tandem with the amazing weather, we also constructed two dedicated customer BBQ areas for your use, and it was a pleasure to see some of you making use of these during those sunny summer evenings.
For your Convenience:
At the start of the season, we commenced an ambitious schedule to complete several projects on site which included:
- Installation of the latest WiFi 6 network, providing our customers with the fastest, reliable and stable connection available to the network.
- As part of a rolling program to maintain deep water access, we undertook a complex dredge within several areas of the marina in early 2022. Included within this was the hoist dock, allowing us to provide a constant depth lifting capacity
- Our recycling areas were also improved with new receptacles and a greater focus on waste control and separation.
- We established exclusive benefits with local partners/businesses allowing Otium customers to spend their reward points on services provided with these businesses.
For your Safety & Security:
- A perimeter fence has been installed along the water’s edge embankment within the upper yard area. As part of our commitment to #greenermarinas, LED lighting will be installed along the full length of this boundary fence, with further upgrades undertaken to the power supply for the boats that will be stored within this area over the winter.
At your service:
- That’s not all though, we’ve also taken the opportunity to improve our lifting services with the purchase of a new automated boat mover. Delivery is scheduled for November, just in time for what is looking like a very busy winter lifting schedule! This equipment will greatly improve our service to our customers.
- On top of this, we’ve also purchased additional 20T cradles and motorboat stands to meet the demand for lifting services, and these will also be with us in time for the winter lifting schedule.
You can rest assured the team will be here looking after your boat, protecting your asset 24 hrs a day while preparing for a fantastic 2023.
And if you’re visiting the marina during December, be sure to pop into the marina office and enjoy a festive treat with the team as we bid Bon Voyage to 2022.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you once again for your continued support and we look forward to another great season ahead!
