Saxon Wharf Marina Winter News

We’d like to start off by saying a massive thank you to all our berth holders for keeping your boat with us this year, and what a year it’s been! We’ve seen the hottest recorded temperatures across the UK, and many of you have taken advantage of the good weather to use your boats to explore the local area and some of you have even ventured further afield.

Earlier this year we took delivery of the long awaiting and brand-new dry stack forklift. After a couple of weeks for installation and staff training, we’re pleased to report that it’s now up and running, enabling us to provide you with a more efficient service.

Furthermore, we also underwent a full review of the CCTV and security systems onsite and following this we’ve had several new CCTV cameras installed to provide us with better coverage of the whole site, including pontoons.

Our signage across the site has also been updated and changed to a new brighter format to not only draw your attention, but also improve our communication with you.

Our car parking capacity has always been a precious but limited resource onsite, and we recognise that at times our berth holders have struggled to find spaces to park, particularly during peak season. In response to this we’ve invested in a ‘state-of-the-art’ car parking system, which we hope will provide a solution to this issue and will ensure there is adequate parking available for all of our customers.

For our customers who travel using electricity, we’ve recently installed a universal car charging point. You will find this situated at the gatehouse for your convenience.

Over the coming winter you’ll notice that we’re dredging both B and C basins to provide easy access at all states of the tide for the larger vessels that come into the marina.

Over this past year we’ve seen a couple of our staff members leave for pastures new, and we wish them well with their future ventures. Consequently, we have a couple of vacancies across the team that we’re actively recruiting for. Our aim is to employ new staff and have them trained and operational well ahead of the start of next season.

We’re delighted that one of our longstanding tenants, Oyster Yachts, continues to grow and expand their portfolio of new yachts here at Saxon Wharf, which has led to them obtaining new premises on site. This is also the case with MSOS who have also added an additional unit to their assets. Currently we only have two units vacant which we’re actively marketing and will hopefully be let out again shortly.

Finally, ahead of the start of the next season, we’re pleased to report that we’ll be hosting a coffee van on site that will provide refreshments and some food for purchase. This will be situated in the car park every weekend during the season.

Let’s hope the new season is as good as the last, with plenty of warm pleasant weather for everyone to enjoy. We look forward to seeing you all in the new season.
