Marina dei Cesari
Marina dei Cesari was a relatively new but well-established marina in Fano, on the Adriatic Coast of Italy. It offers extensive facilities in a beautiful location.
OUR TASK
We were asked to conduct a technical and operational audit to appraise and make recommendations on marina infrastructure, marina service offering, quality of service delivery, operational management and the sales and marketing strategy.
OUR APPROACH
The first steps were to assemble an experienced audit team covering all skills and to work alongside the Marina dei Cesari team to understand the vision for the marina, targets and objectives. We researched the local market initially through a desk-based study in the UK, before looking at specifics in more detail once on the ground in Fano.
Armed with preliminary information gathered early on in the study, we travelled to Fano to complete the audit. We assessed and made recommendations on all aspects of the marina’s operation including management systems and procedures, Health and Safety, Environmental, Engineering (including design and quality of construction), training and marketing and berth sales strategy.
THE RESULT
Our report advised on aspects of the marina’s operation and maintenance, and provided valuable input to the owners’ plans to improve its profitability.
