Chatham Maritime Marina, on the river Medway in Kent, offers first-class berthing and marina services at the heart of a multi-million-pound leisure and retail development that’s set to become a major waterfront attraction.

Following a recent expansion, the marina now has 412 berths and is close to a factory outlet shopping complex, multiscreen cinema, and numerous restaurants and bars. There's also a local convenience store stocking essential items, with other facilities planned.

Boatyard facilities
The marina has excellent facilities for boat repairs or maintenance work, with a dedicated DIY area, storage ashore for over 100 boats along with a 16.5-ton crane, a hydraulic boat mover and yacht cradles. There is also a purpose-built lifting dock accessible at all states of tide. You’ll find a professional, highly-qualified MDL team on hand at the yard to carry out any lifting. Both petrol and diesel are available, enabling you to make the most of your cruising rather than making special journeys for fuel.

Out and about
The marina is a perfect base for exploring. The Medway Estuary offers excellent cruising in the lower reaches, with many secluded anchorages, perfect for lazy lunch stops. The river is navigable for around 13 miles from its mouth at Sheerness to Rochester. For boats drawing no more than two metres, the possibilities are even greater. Further up, past Allington Lock, the river meanders through delightful countryside to Maidstone and Tonbridge. From the Medway itself, there’s the wider cruising area of the East Coast and its rivers, while Holland is 130 miles away.

The historic Chatham dockyard lies next to the marina, while the attractions of Chatham, Gillingham and Rochester are only minutes away. Access is excellent, with direct road links to the M2 and Central London just 40 minutes away by rail.

Freedom Berthing gives you even more freedom to explore any of the 18 marinas in our UK network stretching from Devon to Suffolk, plus over 130 European destinations in France, Spain, Italy and Portugal.
