Bray Marina, in its country park setting, provides berth holders with a delightfully tranquil mooring. The 400-berth marina has an active boating club as well as boat training lessons and handling competitions, a small chandlery, engineering services, brokerage and fuel.
The Riverside Brasserie offers a wide-ranging menu with a beautiful waterside deck, serving everything from the traditional Sunday lunch to a choice of international cuisine in the evening. And a short walk into Bray, there are now three Heston Blumenthal restaurants.
Penton Hook Marina, a four-hour cruise away, offers outstanding boatyard facilities including a 20-ton crane, trailer boat storage, boat lifting, storage ashore and two pump-out stations.
Out and about
There are many attractions nearby. Upstream is the National Trust property, Cliveden House, with its extensive gardens and woodlands. Cookham is home of the Queen's Swan Keeper, who can sometimes be seen in his traditional costume. Further on still is Hambledon Mill – and from here, the river is navigable as far as Lechlade.
Downstream lie the historic towns and villages of Windsor, Eton, Datchet and Runnymede. And if you use Penton Hook as a stop-off overnight, Central London comes within cruising reach.
Freedom Berthing gives you even more freedom to explore any of the 18 marinas in our UK network stretching from Devon to Suffolk, plus 96 European destinations in France, Spain and Italy.
