A proven Bluewater cruiser with Lift keel versatility.
The striking Stephen Jones hull offers a noticeable increase in volume over the 42 while offering excellent performance and comfortable interior space which is key to its popularity as a passage making yacht. The 48S is also suited to inshore shallow waters and is easily handled by two crew. At the push of a button the keel can be raised to reduce the draft to 1m.
The 48S Cast Iron grounding plate allows the yacht to dry out safely when required. With the keel down and a draft of over 3.1m the yacht offers superb windward performance thanks to the high aspect keel fin. The Southerly 48 keel fin utilises a lead tip to maximise performance.
The Aft T-shaped cockpit offers unobstructed visibility from the twin wheels when sailing and space for entertaining guests. Deep cockpit coamings offer reassurance and protection at sea.
