Overview

Funding Opportunities for Sustainable Commercial Maritime solutions utilising Space-based Assets. The European Space Agency (ESA) offers significant funding opportunities for companies and organisations proposing innovative commercial applications - which utilise space based assets such as Satellite Navigation, Satellite Communications and Earth Observation data.

Focusing in on the sustainable maritime sector, the session will present how organisations can take advantage of the considerable funding offered from ESA - for new innovative commercial and environmentally sustainable solutions which support the maritime sector.

The primary speaker will be Andy Williams, the European Space Agency’s Business Applications Ambassador for South West England and South Wales, and he will be joined by other speakers promoting the benefits of space-assets in the sector.

ESA Business Incubation Centres (BICs) are the largest network of space incubators in Europe. The main objective of ESA BICs is to support entrepreneurs with a space based business idea, thereby creating and growing clusters of space related start-ups across Europe. All ESA BIC are managed by local champions who connect their ESA BICs to their local industry, universities, research organisations, government, and investor communities, while also maintaining strong regional/national links. This makes the ESA BICs very well embedded in the local communities as well as the place of choice for all space related innovation and business.
