Local Authorities and National Government have set their sights on achieving net zero, both as an environmental imperative but also as a stimulus for economic growth. The maritime sector has a long and proud historical footprint in the South West achieving £3.5 Billion per annum in Gross Value Added and making up a key part of the regional economy.

In partnership with the Green Tech Boatshow, Maritime UK South West will host a Clean Maritime Summit on Friday 18th June to build a roadmap to achieving net zero in the SW ocean economy, enabling the shift to cleaner ports, harbours and vessels. The first step in this will be to bring together key stakeholders to understand our needs and shared capacity to undertake the task.
