Take a step back in time at Southampton Maritime Festival as it commemorates the wartime and maritime history of the South. During this two-day event many historic ships and vessels will be making their way into dock to join the festival. These include the national historic fleet’s HMS Medusa, ST Challenge, SS Shieldhall and many more. You can learn about each vessel’s role in the world wars, see heritage divers and experience Southampton’s wider wartime history.

We are delighted to announce that two of our successful events will be taking place again next year at our marinas.
Returning in May is one of the south’s premier new and used boat shows, Hamble Point Boat Show. The always-popular free family event will run on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May 2015, featuring over 250 new and used boats for sale, ranging from day boats to sports boats and RIBs to suit a wide range of budgets. Visitors to the event can also enjoy some exciting on-water demonstrations, practical workshops and lots of entertainment for all the family.
This will be closely followed by the East Anglian Boat Show, which took place for the first time this year and proved to be a fantastic success with exhibitors and visitors alike. The 2015 event dates will be Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June at Woolverstone Marina, with the free event playing host again to leading boat brands and an array of new and used boats for sale, as well as great entertainment and on-water demonstrations.
So get these dates in your diary, or if you would like to feature in the lineup you can register your interest here.
Port Hamble Marina was delighted to host a Family Fun Day event held by Sail 4 Cancer on Wednesday 30th July, which was attended by a very special guest.
Sir Ben Ainslie, a patron of the charity, attended the event and met dozens of families at the marina before setting sail for a day out on the water. Guests were thrilled to meet the Olympic yachtsman in person and talk to him about his work for the charity and his recent adventures.
The day’s activities saw the group take part in a treasure hunt around the Solent, allowing the families to enjoy the beautiful weather as they searched for clues. The event finished with a family buffet in the sun, giving families the chance to relax and enjoy some quality fun time together.
Port Hamble Marina recently welcomed another sailing legend to the marina – on Thursday 24th July, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston attended a special event to crown Sail 4 Cancer as the 2014 Haven Academy Award Winner. Sir Robin, who is Chairman of the Haven Academy, presented Sail 4 Cancer with a £5,000 cheque for its good causes.
Set up in 2001 by a group of keen sailors who'd all lost friends or family to cancer, Sail 4 Cancer is primarily a provider of water based respite days and holidays for families affected by cancer. These days out give families the opportunity to relax together, have fun out on the water.
Sail 4 Cancer’s Family Fun Days are organised by Britannia Corporate Events, who provide full event management and logistics support.
