MDL Photo Competition now includes Video and Under-16 Categories


For a fourth year, MDL are holding their annual Photography Competition and new for 2012 are the addition of two brand new categories:

  1. Photography Competition
  2. NEW: Under-16 Photography Competition
  3. NEW: Video Competition

 

The Video Competition also has four distinct categories:

  • Calm and Tranquil
  • Stormy Weather
  • Approaches to our Marinas
  • Wildlife

 

We are once again calling on berth holders, visitors and members of the local community to get creative in the all-new 2012 Competition. MDL is in full swing celebrating the summer this year and we want you to join in, whether you see your local MDL marina as a tranquil haven, an ideal spot to have a family picnic, or just the perfect setting to enjoy your favourite summer pastime, this year’s competition is looking for images that really bring summer at MDL Marinas to life.

Fast-paced action shots, images illustrating people enjoying the marinas and quirky or artistic compositions are all welcome – the only limit is your imagination! This year, we’re asking you to capture what really makes each MDL marina a truly unique destination – My MDL Marina - seen through the eyes of people who experience the marinas for themselves. Nobody knows our marinas better than those who use it - our berth holders and visitors. The subject matter is completely down to you so feel free to be as creative as you like.


Fantastic Prizes to be Won

  • First prize in the Photography Competition wins a Nikon Coolpix L810 camera plus a workshop session with a leading studio photographer at PhotoRed Commercial Photography. The runner up will win £100 worth of vouchers to use at the London Camera Exchange (LCE)
  • The top prize in the Under-16 Photography Competition is a Nikon Coolpix S30 underwater camera. The runner up will receive £50 worth of vouchers to use at LCE
  • Winners of each video category will win £50 worth of vouchers to use at LCE
  • All prize winning entries will receive a pair of tickets to the 2012 PSP Southampton Boat Show and have their work displayed on MDL's brand new waterfront stand (E52)


How to Enter

  1. Take your photos or videos of any of our 21 marinas and boatyards in the UK, Spain and Italy, their approaches, or immediate surrounding area
  2. Submit your entries via the online form (link below), by emailing them to photography@mdlmarinas.co.uk or you can pick up a flyer from the marina office and post it to us with a disc or memory stick of your photos/videos.
  3. If you are one of the lucky winners then you will be notified within two weeks of the closing date (closing date is midnight on Sunday 5th August 2012).
