We are pleased to announce the completion of the £650,000 renovation of Woolverstone Marina.
This major redevelopment project, which has taken three months to complete, has enhanced the layout of the marina with all piles and pontoons on piers A to D replaced, giving a completely new look to the marina.
The new pontoons have been configured to fully comply with Yacht Harbour Association recommendations, allowing for extra beam between berths and greater fairway widths, all of which makes the marina more accessible and easier to use for berth holders.
In addition to the new pontoon layout, the fixed pier has been completely refurbished and the existing access bridge replaced to further increase ease of entry onto the marina, and bring them up-to-date and in line with the new layout. A new state-of-the-art fuelling pontoon has also been installed to replace the previous fuelling facilities.
Marina construction specialist Walcon Marine was contracted to deliver the installation of the new pontoons, with Rolec Services providing the expertise for fitting the new electricity and water supplies. The new fuelling facility was delivered and installed by Petroil.
This latest round of investment marks a significant phase in the development of Woolverstone Marina under our ownership. MDL remains committed to maintaining its programme of investment both at Woolverstone and across all of its 19 UK marinas and boatyards.
Trevor Barnes, Marina Manager at Woolverstone Marina, said: “We are delighted to be completing this major renovation work which has completely transformed Woolverstone Marina and brought major benefits to our berth holders. The significant investment MDL has made in this redevelopment underlines our commitment to constantly looking at ways to improve our marina services and facilities for our customers. I’d like to personally thank the whole team who have worked so hard to make this project a success.”
Woolverstone Marina is set in 22 acres of glorious parkland on the picturesque River Orwell. As well as 235 pontoon berths, there are 110 swinging moorings with a water taxi service, an on-site caravan park along with a sailing school.
