Torquay Marina Unveils Redevelopment Proposals

Posted: 23rd February 2017

Our bustling Torquay Marina will very soon hear if proposals for an exciting redevelopment of the harbour and surrounding areas have been confirmed. If approved, Torquay Marina will begin its transformation into an even better leisure destination, with an exclusive new offering for both members and visitors to enjoy.

The centre point of the redevelopment will be a stunning four star waterfront hotel, which will offer dining, function spaces and a spa. The surrounding promenade will be enhanced with new restaurants, caf├ęs and bars, all overlooking the beautiful marina. Including outdoor seating areas, it will be the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some leisure time, whilst enjoying delicious food and drinks.

Along with all the existing marina services, improved member facilities will include a new Marina Office and Dockmasters Office, providing greater support and security for the marina. The parking facilities will also be renovated to create an ever-more efficient marina.

All these elements combined will allow Torquay Marina to become a hub of activity which celebrates the rich sailing heritage of Torquay. Along with the improved offering for members and visitors, the creation of new jobs and investment into the harbour will also help build momentum for the development of the surrounding areas.

The local council will soon be reviewing our proposals. Any support you can give would therefore be greatly appreciated. Please share your thoughts with Ruth Robinson, Senior Planning Officer, by Monday 27th February on Ruth.Robinson@torbay.gov.uk or you can post a letter to:
