MDL Photography Competition 2010

Do you consider yourself a budding David Bailey? Do you wow and impress your friends and family with amazing photographs? If so, then we have the competition for you!

We are once again calling on berth holders, visitors and members of the local community to get creative in our second annual photography competition. Whether you see your MDL Marina as a tranquil haven, a place to live or work, an ideal spot to have a family picnic, or just the perfect setting to enjoy your favourite hobby, we're looking for images that really bring MDL Marinas to life.

Fast-paced action shots, images illustrating people enjoying the marinas and quirky or artistic compositions are all welcome – the only limit is your imagination! This year, we’re asking you to capture what really makes each MDL marina a truly unique destination – seen through the eyes of people who experience the marinas for themselves. Nobody knows our marinas better than those who use it - our berth holders and visitors. The subject matter is completely down to you so feel free to be as creative as you like. COMPETITION ENDS THURSDAY 12TH AUGUST 2010 AT 12.00PM.

Judging the Competition

Photos will be judged on composition, technique and creativity by Jon Eads, Managing Director (Marina Division) of MDL Marinas, Paul Genge from Sony and marine photographer Mike Jones LBIPP.

With his ability to capture a wide palette of creative pictures, combined with growing up by the sea and his personal passion for yachting, Mike was an obvious choice to judge this competition. His skill and experience as a marine photographer has led to a Licentiate qualification with the British Institute of Professional Photography. He has been all around the world and has been commissioned for countless shoots, truly capturing the essence of his subject matter.

His portfolio is immense and has included shoots at dusk in Finland, wild RIB races across Thailand, through to photographing luxurious yacht interiors at international boat shows across the globe.
