Penlee MarinaPenlee quarry is located to the South of Newlyn in Cornwall. The marina will have 24 hour tidal access which, in conjunction with proposed schemes at Newyln and Penzance, will greatly increase the sailing area to the West of Falmouth and the Lizard acting as a convenient stopping and visiting point to those looking to sail onto the Scilly Isles, Ireland and France. MDL strongly supports the proposals at Penzance and the recently added pontoons at Newlyn all of which will offer sailors options to sail into Mounts Bay. Penlee will provide 195 berths, a small hotel and a dry stack facility that would be able to store predominantly powered boats such as RIBs and small day boats. It is hoped that boat maintenance facilities including lifting will be available elsewhere in Mounts Bay and Newlyn is considered as an option. The scheme is at an early stage with a flexible approach being adopted so as to complement neighbouring projects at Newlyn, Penzance and Scillies. The project will include residential, car parking and commercial retail buildings. MDL is excited to be working on an ambitious scheme and intends to create a high quality marina with good architecture and planning with a consideration being given to environmental opportunities such as harnessing energies form the sea. The company is pleased to be working closely with Penwith and in particular looking at ways which can help to significantly develop a marina related industry in Mounts Bay. The plans are at an early stage and so please return to this page for updates as they occur. Any questions then please contact MDL. For information about the area please visit cornwallmarine.com. |
