Mercury Yacht Harbour Visitor Guide

Mercury Yacht Harbour Visitor Guide - A warm welcome awaits youOriginally built by Sir Robin Knox Johnston, Mercury Yacht Harbour is situated in a sheltered wooded site where the shallow waters of Badnam Creek join the River Hamble. Just a 20 minute walk from Hamble village, the marina offers berthing for 360 boats and enjoys deep water at all states of tide. Among its excellent facilities are a chandlery as well as a bar and restaurant with waterfront views. It is a scenic, peaceful spot, which still provides easy access to Southampton Water and the Solent. There are plenty of other tranquil anchorages to visit, such as Newtown Creek on the Isle of Wight or the pretty Beaulieu River. Further afield is Poole Harbour and to the east lie Portsmouth and the sheltered waters of Chichester Harbour. There's always activity on the River Hamble, with fleets of racers out every weekend during the summer. more about Mercury Yacht Harbour...

Explore the village square and high street with its small shops and attractive old houses, parts of which date back to 1550. Hamble has a long and proud history. Amongst those who have had associations with Hamble are names such as C.B. Fry and his cricketing friends W.G. Grace, the author Neville Shute and aviators Juan de la Cierva, A.V. Roe and Bert Hinkler. Given its geographical location, with fresh water... more about Hamble...
